Congress created the FirstNet Authority in 2012, and it is up for reauthorization. The House Energy and Commerce Committee will hold a hearing Wednesday on the future of what used to be called the National Public Safety Broadband Network; its Senate counterpart did so last week. The best thing Congress could do with FirstNet would be to shut it down.
