It’s been known as the Erie Canal’s signature boomtown, as a different kind of “Flour City” during its 1830s mill-town heyday, and as the birthplace of Kodak in the late 19th century. Rochester today has evolved from its industrial origins into an in-demand housing market whose old buildings have been repurposed for new growth.
