Woolfson is no detached observer of this transformation. After beginning his career in the UK and moving to the US, he co-founded the Californian biotech company Genyro, which is at the forefront of the scientific race to write genes from scratch — a prerequisite for building new life forms designed with AI. Other leading players in the field are his friends and colleagues.
