The new distinctively gabled home in north-west London, designed by Ben Adams Architects, replaces the undistinguished 1930s house that originally stood on the large plot. “We thought about renovating it,” says Suki, “but quickly discovered that once you factored in the costs for rewiring, re-plumbing or retrofitting new technology, it was more cost effective to start again” and “build purposefully”.
